Challenge #56: Journaling

This week I challenged the girls to journaling for a week straight.

I want to know what their tips and tricks were, and how they got into the rhythm of doing it every day to make it more of a habit rather than just an occasional thing.

Challenge #55: Tidying Up

Like everyone, I have a junk drawer…

So, after watching Marie Kondo’s show and reading her wonderful book, I have decided to start small and tackle my junk drawer.

This week, ladies, let’s focus on Marie Kondo’s tidying techniques, and see what we can accomplish—for a Jack$on or less!

Challenge #54: 20-Minute Truffles

This week I challenged the girls to make chocolate truffles in 20 minutes or less for Valentine’s Day.

For me, time is so limited. So any chance I can get to make something while the baby‘s asleep—I really try to take advantage of it.

I can’t wait to see what the other girls come up with!

Challenge #53: 20-Minute Ramen

Hey Ladies!

It is so cold out! The other day Damaris and I were looking at Kelsey Nixon’s Homemade Thai Coconut Ramen on her site. It looked so good!

What is it about ramen that just warms your belly?!

What we loved about Kelsey’s recipe is that it was really, really simple, but still really special.

So here’s what I’m thinking—we all do some ramen dishes this week. You can go as fancy or as not-fancy as you want as long as it’s done in 20 minutes or less. Quick and easy!

Cannot wait to see what you guys come up with. I can always use more ramen recipes!

I think I’m gonna go a little old school—back to the package for mine.

We’ll see what I come up with, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Byeeee!

Challenge #52: Water Challenge

Okay, ladies, it is a New Year and so I think we should start it out strong!

How ‘bout with a water challenge—eight 8-ounce glasses, 64 ounces total, every single day.

Can we do it?!

Challenge #51: Stuffing Stockings for $20

This week I challenged the girls to an All About the Jack$on$ Stocking Stuffer Challenge.

Growing up, stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas. I couldn’t wait to see what little treasures my mom had hidden inside my stocking.

I’m really excited to see what the girls come up with this week!

Challenge #50: Food Gift

It is the holidays and if you are anything like me, you are trying to figure out the perfect gifts to give to everybody.

Well, I’m gonna tell you about something that we do in my family. We always give food as gifts.

So, for this challenge, I’d like to see if you all can turn an old recipe—a family favorite—into a food gift.

Okay? Good luck! Goodbye!

Challenge #49: 20-Minute Cookie Exchange

It is holiday time! That means parties, get-togethers, family traditions—all that good stuff with all kinds of gatherings going on.

And usually at least one of those is going to be a cookie exchange or dessert exchange of some sort.

So, for this week’s challenge, how about we do a quick-fix cookie exchange recipe!

Let’s see what we’ve got, ladies!

Challenge #48: Upcycled Winter Wreath

Well guess what, ladies?

I’m about to start my holiday decorating and I just realized that I do not have a holiday wreath. I have this mangy old autumnal wreath that is kind of scary—like a witch!

But I don’t have a holiday wreath, and so here’s what I’m thinking—what if we turned something old into something new again?

Upcycled style. Wreath. How ‘bout it?

I know I’ve got some stuff that I can transform into a holiday wreath that would have otherwise been garbage. So, I’m challenging you to do the same. Let’s see what we come up with!

Alright, that’s the challenge. Can’t wait to see what you do. Goodbye!

Challenge Submissions!

Challenge #47: "Fancy" Thanksgiving Mac + Cheese

This week I challenged the girls to a Fancy Mac and Cheese Contest!

Can’t wait to see what everybody comes up with! It’s the perfect weather for such a warm and hearty food.

Challenge #46: $20 Holiday Centerpiece

Hey guys,

I have been out and about looking at all the new holiday stuff, and I’m feeling a little inspired to try to actually do a holiday table this year.

So I was thinking a fun challenge this week might be to do a holiday table. And let’s make it an All About the Jack$ons post.

So you’ve gotta keep it twenty bucks or less, ladies.

Let’s see what you can do!

Challenge #45: 10-Ingredient Pumpkin Chili

Hey Ladies!

Okay, fall—it’s officially in full swing. And that means PUMPKIN EVERYTHING!

Here’s what I recently saw online…pumpkin chili. Now I believe that veggies make all things better, but I didn’t really know how I felt about this one.

So I thought why not do a 10-ingredient entertaining challenge where we all make some pumpkin chili.

As a reminder, that means you get ten ingredients to make your chili and anything else you that you want to serve at the meal.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. Hopefully the chilis are good. And if not, you know I want to hear about it anyway!

Alright, 10-Ingredient Entertaining Pumpkin Chili coming your way!

Challenge #44: Charcoal Beauty Products

Well ladies, I was inspired by our Instagram question to followers last week asking what is the ongoing beauty trend.

Today happens to be my self-care day, and so I thought why not marry the two—incorporating your answers into something beauty-related.

One of the answers we got back was about the charcoal trend, so I thought it’d be really fun to see if everyone could do a charcoal mask, and then share what your experience was with it.

So let’s make this a Healthy Beauty Challenge with charcoal!

(Excuse the voice—I have laryngitis. Sorry, guys!)

Challenge #43: Mythical Makeup

With Halloween approaching, I thought it would so much fun to challenge the girls to a Mythical Makeup Challenge!

Let’s just say it’s much harder than I thought, and I think I’ll have to stick to these Instagram filters instead…

Challenge #42: Organizing Spices for a Jack$on

Hey ladies!

Alright, so, this is it! This is my new kitchen. And obviously, there’s a lot more space than my apartment in the city…

So I’m super excited to finally get organized. I’ve had dreams of organization for years! And the one thing I really want to tackle is my spice cabinet…

I have so many spices. So I’m really hoping that you guys can help me out—show me some of your ideas! What do you do to organize your spice cabinets?!

And hopefully it will give a lot of ideas to people out there who are also looking to organize this time of year.

Oops, there’s a bee in here! Apparently, in the suburbs, there are a lot more bugs, too!

Alright, I’m gonna go tackle that. You guys tackle this challenge, and I’ll see ya later!

Challenge #40: 10-Ingredient Vacation Memory

Hey Everybody!

So this week’s challenge is a Labor Day food inspired challenge. I asked the girls to re-create a dish from their past that reminded them of trips they used to take with their family.

We always used to go to the beach and each family would always take a night to make dinner and my family always made pasta.

Check out the Web site to see what we’ve cooked up for you this week!

Challenge #39: Vacation Accessories

Well hello, ladies!

It is almost the end of summer and we all have a couple of those last-minute vacations comin’ our way.

And so here’s my thought—whenever I go on vacation, I end up buying about a billion things, because for whatever reason, I think that I need new clothes and new accessories to go on vacation.

But how about this year, we try to up-cycle some things that we already have. So, I know I need a sun hat. I have a straw hat that’s not very cute—can I turn it into something that is vacation-worthy?

Or maybe a new cover-up? Can I make a cover-up? I don’t know.

I’m gonna try, and that’s what I’m asking you all to do. Can you make a vacation accessory out of something you already own?

Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Good luck, and happy vacationing!

Bye y’all!

Challenge #38: 20-Minute Freezer Meals

Hey Ladies!

Okay, so, we’ve got babies—my twin babies—coming home real soon. And I’m starting to panic a little bit, because not only do we have babies coming, but we’re also moving to the suburbs, so the food options are gonna be a lot more limited—when it comes to take out and delivery—than it is in Manhattan.

I’m thinking maybe you guys could help me out and give me some great ideas of some recipes that are short and simple, don’t take more than 20 minutes, and are things I can stockpile in the freezer so I feel really good about having things for all winter long.

I’d love to hear your ideas!

I appreciate the help, and I will talk to you ladies soon!

Challenge #37: No Makeup for a Week

Okay, Ladies!

Have I got a challenge for you!

So, you all know that I don’t love makeup, but I do wear it sometimes when I’m needing to feel pretty. But it’s been a million degrees, so I’m wondering if we can do a little experiment...

How about…

No makeup...

For a week!

One whole week—naked faces—let’s see what we learn, let’s see how we feel, let’s see how we look. Let’s just give it a try!

Okay? Can you do it?!

Chapstick’s okay!

Goodbye!
