Challenge #55: Tidying Up

Like everyone, I have a junk drawer…

So, after watching Marie Kondo’s show and reading her wonderful book, I have decided to start small and tackle my junk drawer.

This week, ladies, let’s focus on Marie Kondo’s tidying techniques, and see what we can accomplish—for a Jack$on or less!

Challenge #51: Stuffing Stockings for $20

This week I challenged the girls to an All About the Jack$on$ Stocking Stuffer Challenge.

Growing up, stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas. I couldn’t wait to see what little treasures my mom had hidden inside my stocking.

I’m really excited to see what the girls come up with this week!

Challenge #46: $20 Holiday Centerpiece

Hey guys,

I have been out and about looking at all the new holiday stuff, and I’m feeling a little inspired to try to actually do a holiday table this year.

So I was thinking a fun challenge this week might be to do a holiday table. And let’s make it an All About the Jack$ons post.

So you’ve gotta keep it twenty bucks or less, ladies.

Let’s see what you can do!

Challenge #42: Organizing Spices for a Jack$on

Hey ladies!

Alright, so, this is it! This is my new kitchen. And obviously, there’s a lot more space than my apartment in the city…

So I’m super excited to finally get organized. I’ve had dreams of organization for years! And the one thing I really want to tackle is my spice cabinet…

I have so many spices. So I’m really hoping that you guys can help me out—show me some of your ideas! What do you do to organize your spice cabinets?!

And hopefully it will give a lot of ideas to people out there who are also looking to organize this time of year.

Oops, there’s a bee in here! Apparently, in the suburbs, there are a lot more bugs, too!

Alright, I’m gonna go tackle that. You guys tackle this challenge, and I’ll see ya later!

Challenge #35: Simple Summer Beauty for Under $20

Well, summer is here, and if you’re like me, you might be going through some seasonal changes as far as your skincare goes. I have allergies that tend to change my skincare routine a lot. I’m still learning, because before I didn’t really have to have a routine. It just did what I needed it to do. I guess I was lucky.

But that’s no longer the case. So I have been working really hard to figure out what works for my skin during these seasonal changes.

And with summer, even though it’s really hot and humid here in Kentucky, your skin can get dried out so easily—being in the sun, going in and out of swimming pools, and in and out of air conditioning.

So I’m trying to figure out what works best for me, and one of the things that I’ve come up with is this wonderful rosehip oil. It's really healing. And sometimes I just do an oil wash with it, or a treatment. Or you can just hydrate with it throughout the day or after a shower.

So it got me thinking, ladies—what are you doing to take care of your skin this summer? How are you using beauty products to help you “beat the heat?” Let’s do this as a Healthy Beauty Challenge, but also let’s combine that with a Jack$on Challenge. See if you can keep it under a Jack$on!

Alright, let’s see what you come up with!

Challenge #33: Memorial Day Potluck

Hello, Ladies!

It is Memorial Day Weekend coming up. I could not be more excited, because I feel like we had no spring here in New York.

I’m ready to jump right into summer. I always head to Fire Island for Memorial Day, so I’m thinking that we could do an All About the Jack$ons Challenge, so no more than $20!

And a Memorial potluck dish—you know, what would you bring to a barbeque or a party, or whatever you guys like to do on Memorial Day! I’d love to hear more about that, too!

So let’s do a Memorial Day potluck dish—something easy, something less than $20. And more than anything, I hope you guys have a great Memorial Day!

I’m gonna check out this film set that’s happening right in my neighborhood!

Alright, guys, have fun! Enjoy the sun!

Challenge #13: Ringing in the New Year with a Jack$on!

Hey ladies!

New Year’s Eve is around the corner and I’m thinking that we should do an "All About the Jack$ons" challenge!

So we’re gonna each get $20 to somehow make our New Year’s Eves a little bit more special.

Do something fun with it—go buy a new shirt or get some champagne (that’s what I’m gonna do!).

But only with twenty bucks! We want to celebrate, but celebrate on a budget.

I don’t have any great ideas because I tend to be on my couch come New Year’s Eve, so I’m hoping that you guys kind of inspire me on this one.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Love your faces!

Mwah! Bye!

Challenge #10: Trim the Tree for $20 or Less!

Intro Pic.jpg

It's Christmas tree time!

And so, a moment of truth...I am definitely one of the fake tree people (mostly due to allergies).

However, I grew up with a fake tree, so it's more sentimental and normal to me to have the same tree year after year anyhow.

That being said, I still get excited about decorating the tree every year, just like I did as a kid! Instead of going out and picking a tree with my family, I like to think of a theme and then we all go pick out decorations. It's a small tradition I started in my twenties and carried into my marriage.

Some years we just go by the colors we want to use, others we pick an actual theme. This is one of those others years, theme-style. Since my daughter, Jude, is 3½ this Christmas (which is what we choose to celebrate), she is very excited about the magic of Santa!

And like me, Jude loves to bake! So, what better theme for our tree than Santa’s milk and cookies?!

At our house, Santa gets almond milk, or some other non-dairy milk, because he drinks what Jude drinks! Lol.

And after thinking about the tree theme, I realized this whole decorating idea would make for an awesome All About the Jack$on$ challenge for the ladies to take on!

And so, bring on the decorated trees, ladies…but keep it cheap (wink, wink)!

I love Black Friday shopping!

Now I'm not sure whether you're into it, but I think if you hunt through the deals, the shear amazing-ness of it all will make you a convert. There really are some great finds out there!

I know what you're thinking though: is it all just TVs and electronics? Or can you still clean up on Black Friday with gifts under $20?

Here’s my challenge:

Find your favorite Black Friday sales that will set you back no more than one crisp twenty dollar bill.

And don’t worry, if you don't love fighting the crowds, you don't even have to brave the stores! All of the Black Friday circular ads are already online, so you can go ahead and browse without ever leaving your couch!

Stretch, drink lots of water, and remember—keep your eyes on the prize and...FIND THOSE DEALS!

Happy Shopping!
