I have been working in the hospitality industry since I was 14; my first job was at a Penn Station in Louisville.
Anyone who has worked in the restaurant industry knows that it is so hard to stay on track with eating healthy. I always go through the alternating waves of healthy eating and burger/taco diet.
It’s an industry known for being hard on your body, and every once in awhile you need a reset. I’ve tried different things in the past like intermittent fasting and juice cleanses.
After recently opening a new restaurant, and being on a taco/queso diet for several weeks, I was in desperate need of a reset.
If you all have read any of my previous posts, you know that I keep Apple Cider Vinegar on hand in bulk for everything from cleaning countertops to tossing in with laundry to freshen it up during the wash.
I have read about a lot of sipping ciders lately, so I decided to try out my own!
I like to make it the night before so that it’s extra cold in the morning.
If I’m feeling especially ambitious, I will make it ahead for the whole week, and as always these can be made in a naptime or less!
I drink it first thing in the morning before coffee or food to help jumpstart my metabolism.
I also find that how I start my day with food really sets the tone for the rest of the day. If I start off with a doughnut, I am much more likely to let the rest of the day slide downhill.
If you don’t have the ingredients at home to make your own, or don’t have the time, there are a few pre-made sipping ciders that I get on the go—my favorite brand is Bragg!
Terra's Sipping Vinegar Go-To
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons. apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- Add all ingredients to a jar, and shake, shake, shake!
