This week I challenged the girls to make a Piñata Cake!
What’s a piñata cake? you ask…
The answer may surprise you!
The first piñata cake that I made was for a gender reveal party for a baby shower. Everyone loves a good surprise, so what better way to find out the gender of your baby than by cutting into a cake and having a candy surprise spill out?!?!
I thought it would be fun to see what kinds of surprises the girls could come up with in their cakes!
I actually got inspired for this dessert from one Rainbow Frost Fire, aka Damaris Phillips.
She posted last week about this new unicorn cereal that she found, and I thought it would make a great addition to a piñata cake.
I layered Funfetti cake with cream cheese icing. I then cut out a circle on the bottom two layers, removed the cake, and added in my colorful unicorn cereal.
I iced the rest of the cake in the cream cheese icing and topped with sprinkles.
For a little extra “wow,” I baked a few mini Funfetti cupcakes and iced those for decoration.
This cake was such fun to make—sprinkles and cereal everywhere!
Last night I got to surprise one of my favorite little ladies with it! She loved it!
Because who wouldn’t love a cake filled with unicorn cereal?!
